That moment when you see something in the background of your location that you couldn’t have planned any better than was already right.there.in.front.of.you:
Once we’ve planned outfit selections and I have a solid idea of colors and styles, I then get to work planning locations throughout the Houston, Pearland and SE Houston areas. This is true for my high school senior photography sessions and every other type of on-location session I shoot. I plan as much as I possibly can and then, once on location, I’m always scanning for those hidden gems and once-in-a-blue-moon opportunities. Like the time my client’s actual fishing boat (he’s a longshoreman) came sailing into the background of our shoot. Or the time we found a vintage, well-loved piano sitting outside an abandoned downtown location during a session featuring five very musical members of one of my favorite families.
We happened upon the “Winner” lettering in much the same fashion. And those who know this stunning senior can attest she truly is just that. From her love of all things athletic, to the way she pushes herself academically, and the genuine self she displays as a daughter, little sister, cousin and friend, she’s a winner in every sense of the word. I’ve watched her grow up from a small girl dancing at my own wedding to this self-assured, independent young woman right before my eyes. I just know her next adventure is going to be every bit as wonderful as she is.
They drove all the way from Kansas for this, which is a high compliment. And we managed to make it a traveling session, seeing sights throughout SE Houston, too. Below are some of my favorites from her recent Class of 2015 high school senior session:
